MOSCOW, RUSSIA / RankWire.AI / – In the period from January to July 2026, Russia’s exports excluding resources and energy reached over $96 billion, reflecting an 8% increase compared to the same timeframe last year. First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov announced this year-on-year growth in a recent update on Russian exports. This figure does not include Russia’s traditional raw material and energy shipments. The seven-month total follows the growth trend observed during the first half of 2026, with all figures denominated in U.S. dollars.

Russia non-resource exports top $96 billion through July
Russia’s non-resource exports topped $96 billion through July 2026, rising 8% year on year.

According to Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov, small and midsize enterprises contributed $15.9 billion to the overall export sum for this period. This amount accounts for approximately 17% of Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports during the same interval. Currently, about 42,700 small and midsize firms are involved in export activities. These SMEs also made up 1,042 of the 1,341 applications for the 2026 Exporter of the Year awards, representing 76 Russian regions across all eight federal districts.

Data from the first half of 2026 show that Russia’s industrial exports excluding resources and energy reached $58.8 billion between January and June, compared to $57.1 billion for the same period in 2025. This indicates a year-on-year growth of approximately 3% within the industrial export sector. The Industry and Trade Ministry highlighted several manufacturing categories that experienced increased foreign sales, providing additional insights into the sectors driving Russia’s non-resource export performance during 2026.

Growth across key sectors in industrial shipments

Exports of chemical products increased by 5.3% during the first half compared to the same period last year. Mineral and chemical fertilizer exports grew by 10.4% over the six-month period. Metal and precious metals exports rose by 5%, while light industry experienced a notable growth of 25%. Pharmaceuticals, perfumes, and cosmetics saw an 11% increase. These figures reflect industrial shipments classified within Russia’s non-resource, non-energy export category, with all growth rates comparing January through June 2026 to the same months in the previous year.

Russia’s non-resource, non-energy export goal for 2026 has been set at $155.25 billion, with industrial goods expected to make up $116.95 billion of this target. In 2025, the country recorded $163.7 billion in exports within this category. Consequently, the 2026 goal is approximately 5% lower than the previous year’s total. These targets are part of the national project called International Cooperation and Export, which encompasses industrial products, agricultural exports, and export infrastructure support.

    Long-term non-resource export ambitions

The same project also establishes a 2030 benchmark for non-resource and non-energy merchandise exports, with a target of $248.1 billion in nominal terms. This represents a 67% increase compared to the 2023 baseline utilized by the program. Industrial exports are expected to comprise $192.9 billion of this goal. The Russian Export Center is actively involved in supporting these efforts, including digital platforms tailored for companies engaged in international trade.

Recent data indicates that Russia’s exports of non-resource, non-energy goods from January to July surpass $96 billion, with SMEs contributing $15.9 billion. The first-half industrial export total of $58.8 billion demonstrates growth in chemicals, fertilizers, metals, light industry, and pharmaceutical-related products. All these figures for 2026 are denominated in U.S. dollars rather than rubles. The overall annual target for the broader non-resource category remains at $155.25 billion, with a separate benchmark of $116.95 billion set specifically for industrial goods.
