These include implementing streamlined permitting processes, expanding regional transmission infrastructure, directing Emissions Trading System revenues toward industrial electrification, and establishing a binding renewable energy target for 2040. Under current baseline scenarios, European wind capacity is projected to reach 436 GW by 2030, providing 27% of the EU’s total electricity demand.
